About Amy

My name is Amy. Children have been a passion of mine for as long as I can remember. I graduated from the University of Texas Tech with a Bachelors of Science in Human Development and Family Studies.  I am still a member of the Tech Council on Family Relations and do volunteer alumni work for my sorority.

I have been working with children since I was 12 and have years of experience in the daycare center environment. It is such a reward to watch kids learn and grow through the things I have taught them. 

Currently I am the Owner and Director at Giggles and Grins Learning Center. I am involved in many childcare associations and have been trained in Love and Logic Techniques. I have found using Love and Logic with our children reduces the stress in caring for them and the children really respond to the choices we give them and the empathy we show.

I am currently the Vice President of the Texas Licensed Child Care Association Fort Worth chapter. I regularly attend trainings in Infant and Child Development, Lesson Planning, Kindergarten Readiness, Management, etc and believe there is always more to learn or ways to better improve the knowledge and skills I already posses. I look forward to pursing my education and training as much as I can.

I have been married to my wonderful husband for over 4 years and we have two beautiful kids together. We enjoy taking them to the park, the zoo, and traveling. I am very outgoing and I enjoy talking to parents at the end of every day. I have an :open door" policy and want parents to know I am always available to talk with them about their children. I belive communication between caregiver and parent is extremely important. At the end of every day I like to reflect and see how I can make tomorrow an even better day!!!
